Bong Bong’s – Roof Fest London’s amazing restaurant and bar

The Summer isn’t over yet, and as long as one of the largest roof gardens in London remains open it won’t be. Until the 29th of September and right in the middle of bustling London, Bong Bong’s is like an Oasis away from the stress of the working week. Situated on the Roof Top of John Lewis, the mega department store, Bong Bong’s is a lovely place to spend your remaining Summer evenings, with a beautiful view of the London skyline and the appropriate Summer decor including flowers, wooden teepees, swings and more. It will also remain in my memories as the place where I finally learned how to do a boomerang on Instagram, and a very worthy location it was; the entire venue is a social media users dream!

Armed with an assortment of Filipino food and exotic cocktails Bong Bong’s is a strong contender for ‘Top Roof Garden of the Year’. The food selection includes an amazing vegan aubergine satay curry, pork belly with pickled papaya salad and steamed mussels in ginger, all at a very reasonable price of £11 (£6 for a kids portion), and coming in very reasonable sizes. Among the cocktails the Spicy Margarita by Background Bars is not one to miss, and for those wanting something non-alcoholic but equally refreshing, their Hibiscus Virgin Margarita is a great choice. The service is to be rivalled with, with the friendliness and efficiency that makes ones evening so much better, and if you want to add even more style to your evening you can book one of the 3 rooftop dens for you and your group of friends.

Throughout the Summer the John Lewis rooftop also offers a number of live musical performances, including the electric violinist Colette Hazen and Cameroonian folk by Muntu Valdo, and even a rooftop cinema playing the classics we all love.
All in all, this place is a hidden gem. The location is great and this place is an Instagramers dream with a number of fun activities planned for the remainder of the Summer. Definitely not one to be missed before Autumn rolls over and we all crawl back to our homes to start hibernating.
