We met the guys from Bindlesticks at Tooting Market last week at the Santo Remedio’s Pop Up, where they served us some pretty dam tasty wine.
It turns out they are just about to have their first birthday and are celebrating this Saturday (21/09)
This will feature an evening of live music from: Al Maranca and The Round Coloured Note. who has worked with producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy, Paolo Nutini). His music is about the Mediterranean cultural identity, from Morocco to Turkey, mixed with his rather original fusion of Med, Middle East and West African music, funk, blues, rock, dub and more.
This is followed by DJ Akila – (Son of Carlton Barrett; original drummer from Bob Marley and The Wailers. Playing Old school funk, rare grooves, ambient soul, Bosa Nova to name but a few..
With over 25 years of experience in the music business – Akila is a DJ, musician, producer and singer, runs a record label and has a comprehensive knowledge of every music style.
On top of all this you will also have various food stalls to choose from and a huge chill-out tent to relax in yo enjoy your cocktail, beer, wine etc. While most importantly there will be lots of space to dance the night away.
All for very respectable £9 a ticket, so if it sounds like your kind of night, you can get you tickets from We Got Tickets
