Summary
I'd recommend popping into this little no-frills proper-coffee coffee-shop even though it's a little dearer than some of the bigger stores. What you get in return is a much better coffee and something a little different
It’s lovely to start the day with a good coffee. In London we are crowded by the big four: Starbucks, Costa, Pret and Nero. However, every now and then it’s nice to find a new place that just does what it says on the tin: proper coffee. This is where Goodge St Espresso comes in!
At first I was dubious as it’s a pop-up shop, and so I wrongly assumed that the quality would not be as high as I’d like, and that it would be overpriced. However, this little pop-up seems to be here to stay, at least for now, and so this morning instead of rushing past on the way to work I took the time to visit. It’s a tiny little shop, with charming people running it, and a simple decor.
Even down to their cup logos the little shop oozes quality. I got a cappuccino for £2.50, which considering the size of the cups is a bit dear…but it was delicious, and the perfect pick-up for a Thursday morning! They make cappuccino the proper way, putting the chocolate in before the foamed milk – therefore creating a heart shape on the top – it’s these little things that matter!
I’d recommend popping into this little no-frills proper-coffee coffee-shop. Though it’s a little dearer than some of the bigger stores, you’ll definitely be getting quality rather than some indistinct over-sugared coffee flavoured water…
Head over and enjoy Goodge St Espresso while it’s still around! 31B Goodge Street, Fitzrovia, W1T 2PR.
