Enjoy your retro favourites with the return of Sunset Cinema: Film Nights
As the nights start to get darker, but the weather hopefully stays ‘mostly’ good, it is the time of the year when outdoor cinemas pop up across the capital. We’ve already previewed Backyard Cinema – L.A Nights and they’ll be many more popping up on rooftops, in hot tubs and various other gimmicks.
After a smashing success the first year the hugely popular Roof Fest Sunset Cinema: Film Nights series returns for another year of rooftop cinema classics.
John Lewis has partnered with Samsung to ensure that every Tuesday until the 24th of September Londoners get to take full advantage of the limited Summer nights available as best they can and experience movie classics such as Back to the Future, Top Gun, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Ghost Busters, and more, while enjoying the view of the London skyline.
Attendees get to relax in deck chairs while enjoying a complimentary beer, glass of wine or soft drink while getting absorbed in one of their all-time favorites, or that movie they ‘never quite got a chance to see’, in the best possible way.
There is a movie for every mood, whether its sci-fi, comedy, manly bro-mance, or some good old-fashioned ghost hunting. To make the experience even more soothing the movies will be played on the new Samsung 82” QLED 8K TV and guests will be provided with a pair of noise-canceling headphones for a fully immersive experience.
The Roof Fest resident restaurant, Bong Bong’s Manila Kanteen, is also serving a wide variety of Filipino dishes, including an amazing vegetarian option; Grilled Aubergine Satay Curry. The menu also includes the mouth-watering Crispy Fragrant Pork Belly and delicious Adobo Glazed Chicken. For those who want a bit more than wine and beer there is also a selection of non-virgin and virgin cocktails available from the bar, including Espresso Martinis and Chilli Margaritas for the ultimate Summer perking up.
Tickets cost £13.50 and include a complimentary beer, wine or a soft drink.
