The Old Ship – No 4 – 500 Drinks of Summers
In brief: The Old Ship is often a target for West Londoners on a sunny day thanks to its unrivalled location on the Thames. While it’s not going to win any pub of the year awards, its great little terrace at the front overlooking the river obviously means it’s a busy spot on warm afternoons and can quickly pack out.
Our order: After a stroll down the Thames Path from Putney to Hammersmith, we were luckily enough to bag a bench outside. The roasts are decent enough, there are plenty of beers on tap and the wine selection is cheap, I went for a Pinot Grigio Pinot garganega, villa borghetti at under £18 for the bottle, but far and away the main draw of the Old Ship is its picture-perfect location for a lazy Sunday session.
