#ChilliChilliBangBang Festival Preview – 9th / 10th May
We visited the Tooting Chilli Championships at the Wheafshef a few weeks ago and while it blew our heads off we were desperate for more! So when we heard about a Chilli Festival May our mouths started to water.
Tweatup have teamed up with the with Wahaca co-founder and chilli nut Thomasina Miers to bring you #ChilliChilliBangBang which is billed as a “brand new epic urban eating and drinking festival celebrating the heat, fun and flavour of one of the world’s best loved ingredients – the MIGHTY chilli pepper.”
On the 9th and 10th May DalstonYard is going to become undisputed Chilli Capital of the World and plans to bring you lively demos from the UK’s most hot-headed chefs, fiery street food from all four corners of the globe, plus a Spice Market featuring plethora of delicious take home goodies, a Hot Sauce Deli, DJs, live entertainment and Jose Cuervo head turning chilli tequila cocktails.
If fancy yourself as a bit of a future Chilli MasterChef, the you can learn how to knock up the likes of Sichuan Chilli Crab, Smoky Chipotle Salsa and Korean Fried Chicken at the Crate Stage. Brought to you by some of the biggest names in chilli chefery: including Thomasina Miers (of course),Giorgio Locatelli, Anna Hansen, Gizzi Erskine, Atul Kochhar,Stevie Parle, Jeremy Lee, Sam Clark, Tim Anderson, Martin Morales, Tom Parker Bowles, Allegra McEvedy, Andy Bates and Claire Ptak.
You’ll also find stalls covering the hottest food places in the world, including: Mexican from Wahaca and Tommi’s DF Diner, Indian from Rola Wala and Roti Chai, Sichuanese from Bar Shu, Thai from Som Saa, Japanese from Nanban and Yum Bun, Egyptian from Koshari Street. While not forgetting the mighty US of A with diner staples from SmokeStak, B.O.B.’s Lobster and Slider Bar. Finally if you have space for dessert you’ll wan to try the award-winning chilli chocolate treats from Rococo.
