Bar Chocolat – bringing the multi-sensory pleasure of chocolate to life – 11th – 16th September

Supperclubs and Pop Ups have changed the dining landscape of London over the past couple of years and it is no surprise that more and more big brands are Bar Chocolat seeing the potential draw of these events. Brands are now sponsoring these and it makes sense when their values and aspirations crossover, with the very successful Back Door Kitchen Pop Up and Aperol Spritz partnership springing immediately to mind.

However Baileys, (part of Diageo) are seemingly pulling out all the stops to show the public why they should be excited by their new ‘Baileys Chocolat Luxe’ drink with Bar Chocolat. Which promises to be an immersive, multi-sensory Pop Up experience inspired by the pleasure of chocolate.

While normally the thought of a big brand trying to do a Pop Up normally sends shivers down our spines, Bar Chocolat, which is open to the public from 11th – 16th September in London is not one of them, perhaps we are blinded by our love of chocolate, but we’d like to think it was more to do with the impressive array of talent they have managed to get together to make what looks like a Pop Up like no other.

The Covent Garden space will feature a large-scale edible art installation created by Artisan chocolatier Amelia Rope and stylist Petra Storrs, a Bompas & Parr scent and flavour experience, while things get even more sensory with music director Tabitha Denholm’s first-ever video installation and a musical score from pop ingénue Lou Hayter.

Petra Storrs – who has created memorable costumes and staging for the likes of Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith has created an elaborately staged bar space that will provide a beautiful homage to the drinking experience, adding theatre to the first time that visitors sip Bompas & Parr’s Baileys Chocolat Luxe Rococo Serve.

Over the course of the six days, Bar Chocolat is hosting a series of ticketed events which will see a unique experimental supperclub from Blanch & Shock take pride of place. With this Pop Up combining theatre Bar Chocolat dessertand innovative cuisine, 30 diners a time will enjoy a series of potentially amazing delights at each sitting.

London Life UK can’t wait to see whether this lives up to the hype and with so many big names involved it looks like it is a must for foodies, chocolate and Baileys lovers a like.

Bar Chocolat is open from 11 September – 16 September, entry is free to Bar Chocolat by registering for very limited tickets. For those of you who want to eat, the prices are a very respectable £17.50 for lunch and £25 for dinner (drinks included)
