Urban Pub and Bar Group, the team behind 33 classic London venues including Punch Tavern in Fleet Street, Paradise in Kensal Green and West End stalwart Salt Yard Group, has opened its latest venue – The Black Horse.
Having taken over the Fitzrovia site once home to the original Black Horse pub, the team worked to lovingly restore the space to its glory days as one of Fitzrovia’s most loved pubs.
The downstairs of the building houses a modern British pub set up with a large bar to the left, minimal fixed seating and decorated in classic Hague blue tones with mustard detailing. The upstairs has been reimagined into a classic cocktail bar serviced by experienced mixologists with an extensive list of classic and seasonal serves on offer. Featuring deep red tones and sumptuous velvet furnishings, the upstairs at The Black Horse is a cosy drinking den where guests can while away the hours.
The impressive cocktail menu features a combination of classic and signature serves including:
French Martini – Ketel One, Chambord & Pineapple Juice
Ring the Alarm – Casamigos Mezcal, Chilli Aperol, Pineapple, Lime Juice, Sugar Syrup & Peachchaud Bitters
Matinee – Beefeater Blood Orange, Lemon Juice & Prosecco
The opening comes amid a spate of closures across London following a difficult 18 months of trading due to the pandemic and is part of Urban Pubs and Bar’s new partnership with Davidson Kempner and Global Mutual who have invested significant sums into the business for it to continue its expansion across the capital and beyond in coming months.
