Half Term Fun at Borough Market

This Half Term, London’s iconic Borough Market will be hosting a selection of free events for children to get involved in, while parents can indulge in the flavours the Market’s traders have to offer to fuel them through the day! From treasure hunts, to gathering produce for some family recipes to cook at home, and some ‘you are what you eat’-themed face painting, there’s plenty to keep the family entertained from 13-17 February:

Treasure map
A free treasure hunt will available for younger children, where the challenge will be to identify the colour of a series of landmarks throughout the three main trading areas of the Market. Pop into The Borough Market Store from Monday 13 – Friday 17 February to pick up a map and a set of pens, then return with your completed map to collect a special prize.

Market Explorers
For older primary-age children, The Borough Market Store will also be giving away Market Explorers packs, which are filled with background information and simple recipes relating to some of the seasonal British ingredients they’ll be able to find on the stalls. Children can then head home to recreate these dishes with the Market’s top-quality, sustainable produce!

Facepainting
The amazing Saskia will be in the Market Hall from Tuesday 13 – Thursday 15 February, 11am – 2pm, offering a free, food-themed facepainting service for any child who wants to live up to the adage ‘you are what you eat’. Completed in a matter of minutes, her designs include cherries, ice creams and much else besides.
