We’ve teamed up with the Foodies Festival to help celebrate their 10th Anniversary.

The Foodies Festival takes place across the country and with Clapham Common becoming their flagship event we wanted to share our love of London’s Biggest Summer Feast at Clapham Common, July 24,25,26. Up for grabs are 2 pairs of Standard tickets, goodie bags and show guides, plus a bonus entry for a pair of super awesome VIP tickets. So read on and see how to enter….

For those who have never been, you can expect celebrity chefs, new food and drink theatres, artisan producers and more street food than you can shake a satay stick at. Since foodies festival3launching at Clapham Common in 2013, the South London event has become their flagship festival in their Foodies’ series of summer festivals, attracting over 33,000 visitors last year.

 To toast Foodies’ big year, a Wine and Champagne Theatre hosts tutored tastings with experts Neil Phillips and Charles Metcalfe who will guide visitors through this season’s best British bubblies from the UK and around the world, and beer expert Melissa Cole hosts masterclasses in the New Craft Beer Theatre, matching foods with locally produced craft beers. A New Tasting Theatre has also been added to the festival’s culinary line-up, offering masterclasses with local experts and inviting visitors to try the latest foods and learn new skills including Oyster Shucking, Bee Keeping, Cheese Selecting, Foraging, Raw and Vegan foods, and Herb Cocktail Making. 

Summer cooking inspiration comes from the Aga Rangemaster Chefs Theatre with Michelin-starred and celebrity chefs cooking favourite dishes from their summer menus, inspiring the audience to recreate these dishes at home for friends and family and experiment with new flavours and ingredients. Ping Coombes – MasterChef champion 2014, John Whaite – Great British Bake Off winner 2012, Adam Handling – MasterChef: The Professionals finalist 2013, Ben Tish – Saltyard, Anna Haugh – London House, Paul Shearing – Bread Street Kitchen, Owen Sullivan – Maze Grill Park Walk, Aldo Zilli – TV Chef, Jacques Fourie – Ember Yard,  Jesse Dunford Wood – PARLOUR, Saira Hamilton – Small Aubergine

Chocolate addicts should head to the Chocolate Theatre for an instant hit of coco in ‘How to Sniff Chocolate like a Rockstar’ (Random!! Do Rock stars sniff Chocolate?) masterclasses with Coeur de Xocolat, while the Cake & Bake Theatre offers masterclasses in 3D cake modelling, Pastry, Chocolate Making and Sugar-Craft with London’s best bakers and pâtissiers. A complementing Chocolate, Cake and Bake Village sells bakes, jams, gadgets and baking essentials.

For those of you who just want to eat, you’re well served here too, the Street Food Avenue will off a huge selection of hot and cold dishes from around the world, including Gourmet Griffin, Boy Meats Grill, Gone Burger and Madame Gautier. Japanese, Thai, Brazilian, Argentinian, Vegetarian and Vegan, Mexican, French and African cuisines are also served for visitors to tuck into at communal tables in the Feasting Tent.foodies festival4

If you still have some money left there’s plenty to buy and take home, with Little Jack Horner’s, Ecopeace, Coconut Merchant and Eat Stoats join the Artisan Producers Market, where you can meet and stock-up from over 200 producers selling award winning cheeses and wines, breads and bakes, jams and condiments, cured meats and more to take home and enjoy.

If you love HOT STUFF there’s also a new Chilli Food Market, you’ll find a range of chilli growers and artisan producers of sauces, sweets and jams. Oh and for those who can handle the heat a Chilli Eating Challenge takes place at 5pm daily.

They have thought of everything, with kids or Little foodies as they call them can explore their taste buds and learn basic skills with Picnic in the Park themed masterclasses in the Childrens Cookery Theatre, where Kiddy Cook will show them how to make finger sandwiches, jellies and chocolate bugs.

After a day of feasting and fun, you can also relax, find a spot on the grass and soak in the atmosphere with live music from the entertainment stage and a refreshing cocktail, glass of bubbly or a Pimms from the Giant Pimms Teapot and Galleon Mojito bars.
