When I saw the list of new Cadbury Dairy Milk Ice-Creams in the Metro recently I got rather excited to the point I put a reminder in my diary. There was one in particular I was excited
So am I reviewing it because it was amazing or was it a let-down? Read on to find out..
Cadbury Dairy Milk Marvellous Ice Creams Salted Caramel & Sour Cherry contains: Salted caramel and chocolate flavour ice creams, swirled with milk chocolate, candied sour cherries, sea salted biscuit pieces and praline almonds.
I lasted about an hour after our shopping had been delivered before diving in; we’d taken advantage of Sainsbury’s current offer of £15 off your 1st order and £10 off your next 4 plus free delivery, so I felt we could indulge a little bit. I could
After bending my spoon several times (admittedly not necessarily the ice-creams fault), I finally found a sour cherry and added it to my bowl, I was now ready to sit down and try this potentially life changing Ice-cream. As the first mouthful went in, my hopes died and my dreams ended with them. It wasn’t the salted caramel ice-cream that tasted bad, though maybe it was because it didn’t taste of much at all. It was the chocolate ice-cream, the bloody chocolate of all things. If you’ve ever had cheap chocolate ice-cream then you’ll know what I mean. It tasted cheap and it’s not what you’d expect from Cadbury regardless of the price, though at £4 a pot it was far from what I would call cheap.
Swirled with milk chocolate equaled occasional bits of broken up Dairy Milk, not enough to excite or make up for the ice-cream, the best bit was the sea salted biscuit which surprised ever time and level of salt felt right. The one and only sour cherry was also great, but I needed more, perhaps there were many more further down but I doubt I will care enough to look. Disappointed at this point was an understatement.
