Bonjour Le Bun!

It’s fair to say that since Adam Richman graced our TV’s on Man vs Food the gastronomic American influence on the London (and UK) restaurant scene has spiralled out of control. Everyone is smoking foods, slow cooking them, pulling them and smothering it with BBQ sauce; sometimes it just takes a little bit of something else to add some va va voom and make a difference.

Le Bun Social looks like it does just that, fusing American diner food with French classics such as confit duck and bourguignon. The daddy’s of Le Bun Social are Tim Talbot and Andy Taylor who have taken up residency at The Three Compasses in Dalston and are serving up mouth-watering dishes such as Le Duck Frites Bun (pulled confit duck, straw frites, béarnaise spread, duck sauce, champagne slaw in a brioche bun), Le Chevre Bun (Blowtorched goats cheese, hickory smoked tomatoes, truffle dijonnaise, slaw and a brioche bun) and Le Royale with Cheese (bestselling 8 hour short rib patty, hickory beef jus, St Maure de Touraine, smoked tomatoes and truffle dijonnaise). The food can be washed down with a host of craft local London and American ales, or for that classy touch, fine wines and Kamm & Sons British aperitif cocktails.

If the sound of those buns haven’t made your mouth water already, Le Bun Social will also be hosting ‘Taco Tuesdays’ a night serving hickory short rib tacos, fried fish tacos and QuiQuiRiQui slushies. There will also be a Steak Frites nights on Wednesdays dishing up seared hangar steak, frites and a ‘red wine roulette’ where diners have the option to pay £20 to spin the wheel and win one of three choice bottles of red to accompany their meal.

If the food takes your fancy, Le Bun Social is available for gobbling at the Three Compasses every day where the pub also serves over 9 craft beers such as craft Kernal and Pressure Drop. Bloomin’ good burgers and craft beer, what more can you want?
